Psalm 17:8b

Wings? God has wings? How do you know that? What do you mean?

Why would I want to be “under His wings”? He is talking to us about a refuge that is available for us. What is a refuge? A place of safety. A protected shelter. Imagine it–don’t ask questions–don’t build barriers–just accept what He says and try to grasp truth from His words.

Ps. 57:1b And in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge

Ps. 63:7b In the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy

Luke 13:34 How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it!

I guess our problem is uncovered in this reference from Luke–you would not You have to say, “Lord, I want to be under Your wings.” Then close your eyes and believe! Yes, it’s difficult to see, but you are comfortable and relaxed and it is so wonderful to know that you are protected and cherished.
